The late Bob Mayer was one of the founding partners of the firm and had a distinguished 45 year career during which he gained a well deserved reputation for serving his clients with integrity and skill. He was a dedicated litigator and advocate for his clients and his work earned the respect of other lawyers and the gratitude of his many clients.
Bob was known also for his honesty and the fact that his word was his bond. He received many awards for his outstanding contributions to the profession, most notably being appointed Queen's Counsel in recognition of his status in the legal profession.
Bob was also a proud citizen of Thompson and contributed greatly to the community as a volunteer. He was instrumental in the success of numerous community improvement projects both in Thompson and abroad. Alongside this work, Bob also had a distinguished record of providing wise advice and guidance as a member of major government boards including the Clean Environment Commission, Public Utilities Board, and Manitoba Lotteries and Liquor.
These few lines cannot do justice to who Bob really was. For those of us who were privileged to have known him well, including his law partners and the other members of this firm, Bob was a larger than life figure, but at the same time he was a humble and modest man, who never looked down on anyone and who always went out of his way to lend a hand to those that needed his help. Bob will be greatly missed by his firm, and the legal profession.
Bob passed away on April 5, 2016, but his legacy continues in the law firm that he started. Any inquiries regarding Bob's former cases can be directed to the firm using the contact form provided on this website or by calling (204) 677-2393
